Defective with poor craftsmanship JP .936 Adjustable Gas Block w/detent - Poor quality control
Purchased on 7/16/21. This .936 adjustable gas block with detent was defective in either design or craftsmanship through the machine process. The gas tube and roll pin holes were machined too low causing a misfit and rendered the gas block unusable. According to JP they want you to remove the gas screw and the detent set screw and then run a tap through the hole and into the side of the gas tube. The detent set screw and the gas screw were seemingly unremovable in mine. I applied so much torque in trying to remove the screws that it bent the supplied allen wrench nearly half way around. I feared that it would either strip the screw slots or break the allen wrench. According to JP their products may not be compatible with all other parts and some may need modification to function properly. With the gas tube into its proper place the gas screw would not screw in because it hit the side of the gas tube. Tapping the hole would not have made any difference because the tap would have stopped once it hit the side of the gas tube. It wasn't even close. I then proceeded to modify the tub so the gas set screw would screw completely into its intended positions and block the flow of gas when fully tightened. After fitting the tube to ensure function I then proceeded to pin the tube with the supplied roll pin. After pinning the tube I then checked once more for function and discovered that now the gas screw would not turn freely and it no longer screwed all the way in. I then attempted to...
