Gives you a little extra length. Don't have a tailhook on it yet, but works just fine as you'd imagine with an eight inch pad. Would highly recommend to anyone building an AR Pistol that has a longer than average wing span

Since I had a spare tail hook brace I ordered this buffer tube and it works great. The tail hook mounted with ease and the length of pull on it is just enough. Looks cool/different too.
