i love these covers over the normal plastic caps or rupper straps. These provide full coverage over the length of the scope and go several inches back under the scope on both ends so it will not come off unless you are taking it off.
This cover comes at a reasonable price. I use the 42mm cover over my Leupold Patrol 3x9x40 with Alumina Flip Caps on it. It covers the whole scope and fits snugly. It seems to be thick enough to absorb some hits.
