the recoil energy we call kick is computed by looking at the muzzle velocity and the bullet weight in grains.
if one has a higher velocity with the same bullet weight, then the recoil is greater from the higher velocity loading.
if both loads have the same bullet weight, and the same velocity, no matter what the bullet configuration(type) is the recoil (kick) will be the same, when fired from the same weapon.
