Meade LXD-75 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope SC-8AT f/10 UHTC offers Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain optics on the portable LXD75 mount with 497 AutoStar, over 30,000 object library, and heavy-duty tripod. The LXD75 series telescope by Meade sets new standards in its price class.

Focal length of this Meade Telescope is 2000mm, focal ratio of f/10, with Ultra-High Transmission Coatings (UHTC) for maximum image brightness, sharpness, contrast, and coma-free flat fields. The included Meade LXD75 telescope mount features heavy duty metal castings, dual axis drives, a #497 AutoStar handbox with over 30,000 object library, Meade Smart Drive periodic error correction, fully computerized GO TO pointing, a 3-Star High-Precision polar alignment, heavy-duty tripod, and required counterweights. This complete telescope package by Meade also includes an 8x50 viewfinder with quick release bracket, Meade 26mm Series 4000 Super Plossl eyepiece, 2" focuser w/1.25" adapter and 1.25" diagonal.

Optical Tube Construction Schmidt-Newtonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain optics are mounted in precision-machined aluminum cells and mounted in sturdy steel tubes which are baked with high grade textured enamel paint. The optical tube assembly is closed, reducing air currents inside the tube. This prevents distortion of an otherwise sharp image. Plus, a closed tube significantly helps keep the optics clean. Corrector Lens fully corrects for spherical aberration and provides pinpoint star images. Water white glass is used in all Schmidt-Newtonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain corrector lenses to maximize light transmission.

The use of water white glass results in an increase of light transmission in excess of 10%, as compared to competing telescopes using soda lime glass. Individually Figured Optics Schmidt-Newtonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain corrector lenses and mirrors are individually figured to create a superior optical system which is renowned for its exquisite smoothness and performance. Pyrex Primary Mirror Premium-grade Pyrex mirrors are used in all Schmidt-Newtonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain optical systems, providing exceptional thermal stability versus competing models using standard plate glass. Fast f/Ratios Meade's Schmidt-Newtonians have extremely fast, well corrected f/Ratios for short photographic exposure times and wide fields-of-view. 2" Focuser Rack and pinion focuser allows the user to achieve a precise focus. This Meade Telescope accepts both 1.25" & 2" Eyepieces.
