The Meade TerraStar 60 Altazimuth Refractor Telescope 20225 is a non-motorized entry level refracting type telescope that makes a great choice for the beginning astronomer or home with a view. This Meade Telescope includes simple to operate point and look mount. The Meade TerraStar 60 Telescope is an attractive and solidly constructed entry level telescope, that will let you see detail on the Moon, view the main division in the rings of Saturn, cloud belts of Jupiter as well as its primary moons, and observe countless star clusters, double stars, nebulae and more. The Meade TerraStar 60 is a great beginning telesscope for a home with a view, with the simple-to-use point-and-look mount.
Features on the Meade Terra Star 60 Refracting Telescope include a 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser, sturdy metal altazimuth mount with worm gear driven dual slow motion controls, two 1.25" MA eyepieces (25mm, 9mm) for magnifications of 16x and 44X, easy to use red dot viewfinder, diagonal mirror, and height adjustable full size steel leg tripod with accessory tray and instructional DVD with astronomical software/star map.
Note: the Meade TerraStar 60 Refractor Telescope can be converted to a spotting scope for terrestrial (daytime) use with an optional image erecting prism, sold separately (Meade 07217). This makes the scope useful for birding or a home with a view.
