I use this on an 8.3 BA and half of my muzzle threads are inside the rail, I run just a thread protector, but the openings of any muzzle device still fall past the rail, if you're going for a can you'll need to make sure it stands off slightly from the shoulder, but you can get that nice seamless look.
I own several MI rails and they’re all great. The 8” Combat rail I purchased was put on a 9” SOLGW 300BLK. The fit and finish are great. It’s very rigid for a light weight rail. The install was very easy.
