I use this on an 8.3 BA and half of my muzzle threads are inside the rail, I run just a thread protector, but the openings of any muzzle device still fall past the rail, if you're going for a can you'll need to make sure it stands off slightly from the shoulder, but you can get that nice seamless look.
This forend is very well made, high quality, strong, simple and easy to install. It does its job and it does it well enough to make you wonder why you ever spent money on anything else.
