The longer overall length allows easier magazine exchanges, and the extra diamond machining provides maximum grip. The release button fits both AR10/AR15 Platforms. It does everything you want a magazine release button to do, but better. The release button installs like the standard mil-spec release. We extended the length from .3in to .4in, enough to enhance performance while keeping a low enough profile to avoid snagging on slings and equipment.
