The fabric is appropriate for summer wear. They are a nice pair of shorts for the price. The cargo pockets are handy for phones and wallets; more comfortable than in the rear pockets. I would recommend these.

I own 7 pairs of these and absolutely love them. They are true fit. Very breathable, lightweight, comfortable and rugged. I also love the adjustable waist ribbons straps. These come in handy if your weight goes up and down throughout the seasons.
