This doesn’t have a dial…how do you tighten it? Is it annoying?

The Avon Protection Ultra Light Weight Helmet w/ Boltless X-Back Retention has adjustment straps that the user can lengthen or tighten to the specific fit needed. The models at the link below have the dial adjustment.

The Avon Protection Ultra Light Weight Helmet w/ Boltless X-Back Retention can be purchased with exterior Velcro included. Both models MPN:10037684-A-2-14-21-31-Pincatinny and MPN:10037684-A-2-12-21-31-Pincatinny will include exterior Velcro.

The easiest thing to do is place the order, your order will be reviewed by our Compliance and Risk Management Teams, and they will reach out to you for any required documentation. In a worst case scenario that your documentation is not acceptable, your order would be cancelled and fully refunded.

Is this the same as the 3M N49 helmet?

Yes, this is essentially the same as the 3M N49 helmet. 3M sold their advanced-ballistic protection business (AKA Ceradyne) to Avon in January 2020. Since then, Avon has been manufacturing Ceradyne helmets and armor.

The weight will vary slightly by size.

Medium: 1.20 lbs. (0.54 kg)
Large: 1.27 lbs. (0.57 kg)
Extra Large: 1.39 lbs. (0.63 kg)

Unfortunately, it can not be fitted with the EXFIL 3.0 rail system.
