Yes. The holes are to let gases escape upward.

Any reason this would not work on a "7 mm STW"? Assuming the threads are correct.

No. This ATI Outdoor Shark Muzzle Brake is designed for calibers with a bullet diameter of 0.224" or less. 7mm STW has a bullet diameter of 0.284" and would be too large to work with this brake.

Does this brake help with recoil and muzzle rise?

Yes. The ATI Outdoor Shark Muzzle Brake is side and top ported to reduce backpressure resulting in less felt recoil. This muzzle brake is designed for .223/5.56 and is threaded 1/2x28.

What muzzle device tool fits this? Purchased two different armorer’s wrench for AR15 and were a little small.

We use just an armors wrench when we switch them but you could also use a 22mm wrench or just an adjustable wrench is what I use
