These Aero Precision M4E1 AR-15 5.56 Mid Barrel Complete Upper Receivers are the enhanced uppers. They are threaded and have the Gen 2 Enhanced Handguards.

I believe that if this is the M4e1 enhanced upper receiver it is not threaded for the handguard it is a proprietary handguard that bolts straight on to the upper receiver the handguard on a enhanced upper does not clamp onto the barrel nut it screws directly onto the upper receiver itself.
