It Depends on the version of the cut that you have as there are 2 generations of it. Our plate fits the original Gen 1 style and NOT the new Gen 2 cut.

You will need an adapter plate specifically made for the Ruger American.

It will not fit a Gen 6 as the Gen 6 used a different mounting footprint compared to the old MOS system. You will have to get a plate that specifies Gen 6 compatibility.

Shadow Systems has a different design of mounting interface, you would have to get a plate from them.

This is probably a question that should be directed towards Aimpoint but I am trying to figure out why they went with aluminum. No steel/stainless?

Hello !

Luckily, I work for Aimpoint so I can answer this as best I can. Aluminum is a lighter material than steel as well as softer and easier to machine while maintaining strength and durability. For most adapter plates, screws are made from steel, since they are the tension producing securement for the plate, their more effective made from steel while the plate can be aluminum for lighter overall weight.

No, you would need Walther PDP compatible plate. Currently we only have a Walther plate for the Q5 match.
