The Allen Front Shotgun Sight is designed for Remington 5/16 ribs. It might work with a Mossberg 3/8" wide rib. I recommend using the 3/8" rib front sight at the link below.

No they don't, their spring steel and pressure keeps them on, I bought this for my tactical shotgun and it works perfectly

Yes they will fit all vent ribbed barrels.

You'll need to measure the rib on your 870 - Allen’s patented Front Shotgun Sight fits 5/16″ Remington and Benelli 12 gauge guns. The frame is spring steel and the blade is fiber optic material.
