As to future release of external devices, will this initial series be equipped to accept those new external devices as they become available.

I recommend contacting Armasight in regards to the compatible of the Armasight Contractor 320 6-24X Thermal Weapon Sight and future devices.

Can rechargeable RCR 123A batteries be used?

Armasight recommends disposable CR123A batteries for their Contractor 320 6-24X Thermal Weapon Sight, although rechargeable CR123A's should also work.

Is there any provision for external battery power? What is the detection range?

The Contractor 320 6-24x has a detection range of approximately 1865 meters (2040 yards). We do not currently have an external extended battery pack available for the Contractor series however, this is a new product series and there are plans to release external devices for the Contractor series in the near future.

The Contractor has a recoil rating of up to .50 BMG.
