There are a couple version of the Vortex Razor spotting scopes. Please email us at techsales@opticsplanet.com with the model you would like to compare with and we can provide a comparison for you.

I just got a new Athlon Ares 20-60 x 85. A friend has the Razor that is about 2 years old and I was going to get that same scope because I liked it so much, but after shopping I decided to save some money and try the Athlon Ares knowing I could return it if it didn't make the grade. In short, no one that has looked through both scopes can tell any difference in optical quality, and all but one of our friends preferred the focus of the Ares to the Razor (even the guy who owned the Razor). The Ares is a little under an ounce heavier, which you can't tell without a scale. Both are great scopes, both companies offer a superlative warranty. Both companies have great customer support (I own several Vortex rifle scopes). I made the right choice and have no regrets at all.
