What do I have to take off my bike to get it into the box? For example; pedals, wheels, etc.?

Expert Answer
A
Answered by Ethan, Gear Expert, from IL, United States, on February 03, 2022

For the majority of bikes, you will have to remove the pedals, seat, both wheels, and disconnect the handlebar assembly. At that point, you can place the bike in the B&W International Bike Box II and use the provided pads and Velcro straps to secure the bike in place.

Do the wheels fit in the bike box, or are they carried separately?

Expert Answer

The bike.box II comes with everything you need to securely transport every part of your bike. Wheels are securely packed in two medium wheel bags and the built-in frame suspension keeps the frame stable.

Will the airlines consider this case to be an oversize luggage ?

Expert Answer
A
Answered by Corey K., Gear Expert, from IL, United States, on May 30, 2019

Unfortunately you will have to confirm this with the airline. Some do not include wheels in measurement, for example, while others have different thresholds before you start accruing additional charges. Most have a threshold of 62" in total dimensions, so this would likely qualify.

Can a mountain bike size 29 fit in this case?

Expert Answer
A
Answered by Mark H., Gear Expert, from IL, United States, on March 05, 2019

The appropriate case depends not only on the frame size, but the suspension, as well.

I would recommend downloading the current catalog at https://www.b-w-international.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/bike.cases_012019_web.pdf to ensure compatibility with your mountain bike.

When you open the PDF, use the "Find" feature to search for the word "mountain", and you will see the fit charts displayed.
