Does that shoot knives?

No, this does not shoot blades/knives. This is an out the front automatic knife. The switch on the side of the knife can be slid down to hide the blade in the handle and can be slip upwards and the knife will come out of the top of the knife. There is no lock and the knife is pushed out of the top of the handle using a spring mechanism which is what makes it an automatic knife because it is deployed using a spring.

Blade Length is 3.45", Open Length is 8.23", and Closed Length is 4.78".

Would the automatic function of this knife make it a switchblade? I live in a state that has made those illegal.

The answer is most likely, BUT it is very important that you verify the legality of automatic knives with your local police department and government entity.
