You thread your belt through the slots with the L slot to the rear. That is where the trigger guard will go. You position the firearm between your belt and the holster/piece of leather. It is one piece and does not open etc!Pull the leather away from the belt to form a pocket. The piece of leather captures your firearm between your belt/body and the leather piece/holster. It works perfectly. I have use one for almost two years. I carry a Glock 42 and it is so comfortable i forget it is there!
