The BOG Death Grip Clamping Tripod model MPN:1099442-KIT6 includes the ATN X-TRAC 5 Tactical Remote Access Control. This controller is designed to be paired with ATN Thor 5 and X-Sight 5 scopes. It allows for control over the scope and its features via the controller.

The max height of this model is 59" and the head does pan 360 degrees.

can I clamp a spotting scope to the tripod?

The BOG Death Grip Clamping Tripod is designed to clamp down on the forend of a rifle and not a tripod. You could purchase the BOG Great Divide Tripod Head (linked below) and use that head for mounting a tripod.

The head on this model can't be removed and attached to a different tripod. You would want to purchase the Deathgrip Ultralite

The jaws open up to 3" wide. As long as the handguard isn't wider than that, it will hold it.

As long the the distance to the base of the foregrip to the the string travel location is greater than 3", than the DeathGrip will work with that model.
