It ‘can’ be used in a smooth barrel. But being a slug, if fired from a smooth barrel it won’t spin & therefore won’t be able to stabilize itself. At very close range I wouldn’t expect an issue. However at any sort of distance accuracy will be significantly reduced.
That is a lie whoever answered that question don’t know what you’re talking about. These are extremely accurate out of a smooth bore out to 100 yards. And maybe 150 yards so don’t let people put foolish answers on here please
The other answer is incorrect. Rifled slugs are designed to be fired from smooth bores only.
They're designed to be used in a smoothbore, these are absolutely accurate out of mine...will hold 3-3.5 inch groups to 70yds or so...great slugs, very powerful.
