Burris states it will range a non-reflective target at 2,000 yards. With that in mind, the ranging capability can get you out to +2,000 yards, but the ballistics calculator is not able to stretch out to that distance and has shorter yardage limitations based on the caliber you are using. This is because the Eliminator IV is designed to put you in the kill zone of an animal and not designed as a precision shooting optic.

The Latest/Greatest ELIMINATOR IV from BURRIS is actually an amazing product. Finally the Technology has caught up with the original conception of a single unit being able to provide a real-time firing solution for real world hunting scenarios. Using 3 different units I was able to range Vegetation ( Tree lines across farm fields) consistently recording distances over 2000 yards. Testing different ELIMINATOR's on multiple occasions with drastically different atmospheric conditions and realizing the tolerances were so tight and the ranges were so consistent within a couple of yards of each other at distances over a mile away is very good. granted vegetation is more reflective than a warm fur bearing animal such as a deer but vegetation is much less reflective than steel buildings or Rock is a great indicator that this is a quality rangefinding system. I have always felt like you need a rangefinder to be able to consistently give you ranges at least twice as far as you'd ever consider shooting as far as it's maximum capabilities. with the thought being that in less than ideal conditions in hunting scenarios that hopefully you would be able to range at least half of the maximum distance of its capabilities and I believe this Burris Eliminator 4 does just that.

I promise you this system is much faster & (with proper set up) accurate enough to be
MOA of whatever species your Hunting out to 800 yd plus or minus depending on the ballistics of whatever your shooting.
Again, I think that's what this system was designed for.
I think that's what Burris had in mind when they finance this project many years ago finally it's in a small enough light enough easy enough to carry and actually use in real world hunting scenario's.

Nothing's perfect, everyone must PRACTICE to PROVE not only a shooters comfortable skill level but also every single small detail that goes into their Shooting System (this literally is Rocket Science folks) to know their Repeatable Range Limitations.

So many factors that go into that that's called ethics and it's up to each individual obviously you must practice to prove your ballistics and your equipment that's another conversation. This is a great tool, that enables hunters who practice good shooting fundamentals a Real Time Firing Solution (DOPE) for Range and gives Advanced Windage Hold Correction based on your wind value.

Shooter and/or Spotter MUST ALWAYS GIVE/GUESS Their own current WIND VALUE of course as that can change every couple of seconds but that is the Same no matter what kind of Scope anyone is using, so with everything The Eliminator 4 has going for it and how quickly it gives you a firing solution I think it's going to surprise a lot of people on just how effective and accurate you good shooters can be.
