The eyepiece included with this item gives it a fixed magnification at 39x. A more traditional spotting scope may be a better option as most will have a range of available magnification to aid in game detection.

With the eyepiece that they give you which is 32 mm to get a pretty wide field but you can buy a 40 mm eyepiece it'll give you a wider field-of-view or you could buy a .06 reducer which will do the same thing I do that on the moon if I want to get more of the Moon in my picture but I would say it has better Optics than a spotting scope that's way out there in a 1500 dollar range I've use a lot of Scopes I've been doing Scopes from since I'm 16 all the way up to 54 now for the amount of money that you pay for this scope you get excellent Optics even on a moon you can see crater inside of crater I can see a piece of leaf and count the points on it all away from almost a quarter mile away from my home on a tree of course if there's a lot of heat then you're going to have problems with blurriness with any scope but for what the amount of money that your pain it's definitely one of the best options I found I have sold five of the Scopes already just to my friends
