It is not pre-drilled
Hi Tom. I just bought the sight too, haven't installed it yet. I see the hole is in the rear part of the sight for tightening it but it isn't tapped for the set screw. I aligned the sight and it does appear to line up fairly well with the little hole cut in my barrel so I'm suspecting it will work. The problem I see is that the sling swivel is in the way and I can't seem to figure out how to make it fit without removing the sling swivel. I also see the hole isn't tapped for the screw so it will have to be tapped. I also saw another individual had drilled a hole through the bayonet lug and attached a 2nd screw through that hole. He said it made for a really solid mount. I'd be interested in doing this same thing with mine, but I don't have the ability to do this, so I might just have a local gunsmith do this for me. Seems kind of complicated to get it to work.
I believe it's doable but a bit out of my technical abilities.
Yes. The CMMG, Inc F Marked Front Sight Base Assembly will fit any barrel that utilizes a 0.750" gas block.
Yes. There are many front sight posts that feature tritium that will work with this Front Sight Base Assembly. Some examples include the Blitzkrieg Components AR Spike Front Sight Post, the XS Sight Systems Standard Dot Sight, and Meprolight Tru-Dot Tritium Sights.
