Does this work in a large frame 308 bolt carrier for an AR10

The CMMG, Inc Firing Pin Retainer model for the CMMG MK3 should work with any DPMS pattern BCG.

Will a firing pin retainer for an M16 also fit the bolt carrier for a CMMG Mk 47?

You will need to verify that directly with CMMG as they make no mention of whether the bolt carrier group for the Mk47 uses their Mk3 retainer or a standard AR-15 retainer.
