Here's an answer as provided to a customer from the manufacturer's product specialist.
"If you have gone in the settings menu on the dash cam and changed the date/time but it keeps resetting to default, it is possible that the battery is losing charge and forgetting the date/time entered. If you unplug the dash cam from a power source does it stay on for very long or turn off right away? If it turns off right away, it is likely that the battery has gotten in a discharge state.
