Buyer Beware! Poor Man's Binary Trigger Without All The Safeties!
Written on Feb 24, 2025
Review for
Mimtac Drastic AR-9 Drop-in Trigger
So, I bought this a while back. Installed it into a PCC. When I took it out to the range, it had issues within the first 10 rounds.
Typically, the way it works is the bcg will move backwards dropping the hammer back down, from there the hammer will be held and slowed by the disconnector till it can be caught and finally held for the next trigger pull by the trigger itself. The disconnector failed to pass it off correctly, resulting in unintentional binary fire. This was inconsistent too.
The click you hear on the trigger release is the hammer falling from the disconnector to the trigger. This appears to be where it's having issues. This trigger had no issues with the disconnector holding the hammer when the trigger is held back, so the issue is likely in either the hammer or the trigger. The issues happened when pulling and releasing the trigger both slowly and quickly as well.
After getting home, I dry fire tested this to see if it would happen under optimal conditions when there was no pressure against the trigger or hammer. The problem occurred during dry fire as well.

Excellent Optics Would Buy Again

Review for
SightMark Citadel 3-18x50mm MR2 Rifle Scope
I bought this optic a while back. I was pleasantly surprised. The glass is clear, the illumination of the reticle is bright, and there is no movement from zero. I am definitely enjoying this optic. I didn't have the funds for a more expensive model and wasn't sure what I'd get. Considering how complex some of the optics can be, the simplicity of zeroing this one was definitely a benefit. The turrets lock so they won't change if bumped. There's no guesswork or odd features to work around. Perfect.
