Does this bag have more cushioning than regular Coleman bags for cold fall weather for someone who has hard time sleeping on rocks/ground? No tent.

Yes and no.. it has a decent amount of insulation but i'd recommend a sleeping pad in that situation. And try to brush all the rocks and twigs aside. I've slept in it w/a tent. And a coleman fleece sleeping bag cover on a windy 23° night in oklahoma and faired pretty well.

I want a cold weather sleeping bag for a man with 48” broad shoulders and and chest. He busted out the zipper of his bag when turned over. What size?

The Coleman Extreme Weather Sleeping Bag, Big Basin will fit anyone up to 6.6 ft tall and weighs from 225-300 pounds. As long as you are within the height and weight specifications, you should not have issues with this sleeping bag.
