The flat head slot is a great idea and you can definitely contact Crosman about your suggestion, but we cannot modify it as we did not manufacture it. A possible option to get the battery cap off would be to wrap it in some sort of rubber or electrical tape and gently take a set of small pliers to the rubber/electrical tape. But the cap should not be difficult to remove and should just unscrew with light pressure.
