I bought this camera thinking that I can use it as a home Base or send to my phone. Can I use it just as a home base or do I need a plan

If you are trying to send images to your phone you will need a data plan for this unit. All "Cell" capable trail/game cameras require a wireless data plan to be able to send information from the camera to a cell phone.

The units seem to only be compatible with the Verizon LTE system. The app will work with Android or iPhone OS.

Will this model still work on Cuddelink if the Cellular plan is not activated or active at the time?

Model K-5789 is the Plan Model and requires a purchases cell plan to operate. Model K-5680 is the Open Model that allows the camera to function with or without cell service (cellular operation does require a purchased cell plan).
