The Daniel Defense DDM4V7 Upper Receiver will work with any length buffer assembly as long as you use the correct weight buffer for optimal reliability. I would recommend a H buffer for this upper.

No, the DD5V3 is an AR-308 platform, this is only for AR-15 platforms.
