EWG website says the model 51100 mount for savage Ultalite comes with both 6-48 and 8-40 screw. Optics description says only 6-48 screw. Which is it? — 1 Answer

51100 mounts manufactured after 3/2021 are drilled to accommodate larger diameter screws (#8-40) and now come with #6-48 and #8-40 screws. All of these mounts that EGW has in stock are the most up to date version. You would have to contact OP customer support to verify they do not have old stock. The old stock has a one set of screws which is in a clear bag. The updated version comes with two sets of screws, one in a blue bag (#6-48) and one in a red bag (8-40).

We have had customers run into issues threading screws into the receiver on the Ultralite rifles. If you run into this issue, it is not the screws. The receivers have dirt or a burr in them from the factory and need to be chased with an 8-40 bottoming tap. After the threads are cleared our mount/screws go right on.
