Can this be used on an AR pistol? I'm thinking, no but hoping, yes. Any help would be appreciated. Thank y'all — 7 Answers

its fine for a pistol. it's the same as the BCM gunfighter but has more of an angle, the AFT doesn't have the right to dictate definitions.

This is not an angled fore grip, though it has angle, it’s technically a vertical fore grip, and therefore would turn your pistol into a “short barreled rifle” as define by certain alphabet agencies and their alphabet soup acts.

Suitable forward support that would be definitively legal on a pistol would be something like the BCM KAG or the Magpul AFG. Anything that can be gripped like a vert grip with your thumb wrapped around the grip and not the hand guard will make the ATFLGBTQRSLMNOP roll up to your house and shoot your dog.

I have it on my 10.5" ar pistol and on my PSA AKV. I'm loving the way this thing feels with its rubberized texture. Width wise, it's about as thick as my BCM forward grip with more angle to it.

Not legally! Must use triangle style (slanted) front grip.

The ATF has determined that a vertical foregrip is "oriented at a perpendicular (90 degree) angle to the bore of the weapon".
Unlike a vertical foregrip, an angled foregrip (AFG) is not perpendicular to the bore and is gripped at an angle.

The definition of an angled foregrip is one not at a 90°, doesn't say vertical in its title, and you can't wrap your thumb around it. Seems like it's in a gray area.
