Typo, the load weighs .9 ounces as opposed to 1 or 1-1/4 ounces. They achieve this by using .30cal #1 buckshot instead of 00.

The shot type is 00 Buck Shot. That type of shot is very common in a self-defense shotgun shell. You misread the description because it reads as "9 pellets"; not #9 shot.

One shell is almost the equivalent of 9 9mm handgun rounds. They do tremendous damage in a small radius (about 6 inch circle)

It's certainly not 9 shot. I know it claims that but I've shot this ammo and examined the targets afterwards. My guess is it's maybe #2 shot.
