How does the QD mount hold up to a hardened steel stud? One would think the aluminum will fatigue or round out over time. Is the QD opening steel? — 1 Answer

It should realistically not have any fatigue or rounding issues. The aluminum used in this castle nut/end plate combo is 7075-T6 which is the same material that mil-spec AR-15 upper and lower receivers are made of. I say this because AR lowers/uppers get steel mounted mounted and installed in them with no issue as long as the part is up to snuff in regards to quality control, which Fortis definitely is.
