Thank you for your interest in Galco’s 1880s Western Cartridge Belt. Ordering the correct size belt is simple if you follow the below instructions.
Galco belts are sized to the center hole without regard to the number of holes provided, in even sizes and in true inches. The 1880’s belt does NOT have overage or hip size built into it’s stated sizing. In addition to slighter lower on the hips, over-belts are often worn slightly slung on the holster side, so take that into consideration when determining your size.
The preferred measuring technique is, in addition to wearing a pants belt, put on a second belt as if it were an over belt in the position below your waist and potentially slung as you intend to wear your new 1880’s belt. Note the hole you are buckled into for this simulated over belt test. Take the belt off and measure from the end of the buckle to the hole you used in your size test. This will give you a true inch measurement and a correct belt size to order when rounded up to the nearest even size.
