What is the adjustment range? ie: 38 in belt adjusts from 26 to 40?

Answered by Hunter, Gear Expert, from OH, United States, on June 03, 2022

Galco does not give a size range for the Galco Model 1880s Cartridge Belt 44/45. Glaco states that there belts are measured from the center hole to buckle and come in 5, 7, or 9 hole models. These Galco Model 1880s Cartridge Belt 44/45 are 5 hole belts, I recommend contacting Galco to see what the size range is for the Galco Model 1880s Cartridge Belt 44/45.

Thank you for your interest in Galco’s 1880s Western Cartridge Belt. Ordering the correct size belt is simple if you follow the below instructions.

Galco belts are sized to the center hole without regard to the number of holes provided, in even sizes and in true inches. The 1880’s belt does NOT have overage or hip size built into it’s stated sizing. In addition to slighter lower on the hips, over-belts are often worn slightly slung on the holster side, so take that into consideration when determining your size.

The preferred measuring technique is, in addition to wearing a pants belt, put on a second belt as if it were an over belt in the position below your waist and potentially slung as you intend to wear your new 1880’s belt. Note the hole you are buckled into for this simulated over belt test. Take the belt off and measure from the end of the buckle to the hole you used in your size test. This will give you a true inch measurement and a correct belt size to order when rounded up to the nearest even size.

To wear this across the chest you'd have to rework the leather in order to make the fit comfortable. The loops will not fit 12 gauge shells though.

Measure your existing belt from the end of the buckle to the hole that you use. This measurement will be the size you need to go by.
