Thank you for your interest in Galco’s 1880’s Holster in Strongside and Crossdraw. As you’ve described, a Right Hand shooter would order a RH strong side holster and a RH Crossdraw holster assuming they want both holsters. Both models loop over a belt up to 3” wide and are offered by Optics Planet.
Here’s what you need to know about sizing and ordering an 1880‘s belt.
Galco belts are sized to the center hole without regard to the number of holes provided, in even sizes and in true inches. The 1880’s belt does NOT have overage or hip size built into it’s sizing. In addition to slighter lower on the hips, over-belts are often worn slightly slung on the holster side, so take that into consideration when determining your size.
The preferred measuring technique is, in addition to wearing a pants belt, put on a second belt as if it were an over belt in the position below your waist and potentially slung as you intend to wear your new 1880’s belt. Note the hole you are buckled into for this simulated over belt test. Take the belt off and measure from the end of the buckle to the hole you used in your size test. This will give you a true inch measurement and a correct belt size to order when rounded up to the nearest even size.
The 5.5" model would fit your .22 however, it would be a little loose as those large caliber frames are wider than the .22 models. So fit would not be optimal.
It is the crossdraw holster only, the belt and strongside holster are not included.
Please email your inquiry to Sales@opticsplanet.com or Techsales@opticsplanet.com. We will need to know the model and caliber of your firearms.
