Will this work for an AR-10? — 2 Answers

Any milspec magazine catch that fits an AR-15 will work on a DPMS format "AR-10" or rather an LR-308 lower. They WON'T work on a true AR-10 (back end of upper is more of a chamfer than a fillet). In other words...if it is an Armalite-10 this mag catch is incompatible. If it is a DPMS format "AR-10" (LR-308) then you are good to go. To add perspective from the "expert answer"....they state it is for a 5.56 AR-15 however anyone who has ever built an AR-15 knows that the mag release works on every caliber an AR-15 shoots. .17HMR, .223, 5.56, 7.62x39, 300BO, 22LR, 450Bushmaster, 458Socom, etc. Sometimes we shouldn't "trust the science." Experts....
