The firing pin does not fit their own Bolt designed for this application (JPEB-308HP). LR-308 platforms are difficult enough with cross-brand nonstandardization but JP seems to have made it more difficult by not even having their own parts be compatible.
The firing pin retainer pin and cam pin are great. Work fine. The firing pin is thicker at the tip than most lr308 firing pins. As such,it does not fit through most lr308 bolts. This forces you to buy JP parts to be compatible and JP is about 2x as expensive as their competition.
Installed on an 8.6 BO barrel that was dimpled and I was able to pin it without issue. I probably smoked about 3 budget cobalt drill bits getting through the nitriding but after that it was smooth sailing. This one was an 0.875 journal but I've put on the 0.75" ones as well and they are just as easy and just as high of quality.
Bright and feels light yet sturdy. The features are fairly intuitive. It doesn't come with instructions and you will have to find a third party reviewer/unboxing if you have issues because Cloud Defensive's instructions are horrible. The manual on Cloud Defensive's website has no pictures and there isn't much in terms of useful videos on their website or YT page. You'll probably be all right if you owned one of their previous versions. The tail cap can be adjusted so the cord comes off at 90/180/270/360. The switch is fastened on with two pieces of plastic onto the picatinny. Over $300...it shouldn't have any plastic for mounting. Also, it is quite a bit larger than other weapon lights. There is only the attachments for a pic rail (not included) and the aftermarket torrent mounts run around $40 for MLOK. Overall, I am unhappy with it enough to not buy it again, but happy with it enough to not return it so it gets 3 stars.
I have this attached to a superlative arms adjustable gas block. I've gone through the full range of gas settings and I've had one actual case where the casing ejected. I've put about 75 rounds through it and I've got almost nothing but failures to eject. The BCG is a bravo company and everything is lubricated well. It is very disappointing as the barrel took me a long time to save for...then a long time to get...and it was expensive. I'll be replacing the buffer with a lighter weight buffer and installing a Tubbs spring made for 300BO as well as replacing my bolt carrier with a low mass carrier. Outside of that there isn't much I can do without taking the barrel to a machine shop and resizing the gas hole.
