where do you measure for the size? Inner diameter or outer diameter?

The actual diameter of the objective lens is 44mm. it is fit inside the tube, so the inside diameter of the objective tube is slightly smaller than 44mm, and the outside of the objective lens is slightly larger than 44mm.
