The actual diameter of the objective lens is 44mm. it is fit inside the tube, so the inside diameter of the objective tube is slightly smaller than 44mm, and the outside of the objective lens is slightly larger than 44mm.

Objective lens diameter is the size of the lens. This measurement is slightly larger than the inside diameter of the objective opening and slightly smaller than the outside diameter. Regarding the 30mm tube, this is an outside diameter measurement.
