Yes it should fit and work as both rounds have similar caliber sizes.

You need the 458 socom muzzle brake as they are the same diameter the 450 bushmaster is a smaller projectile size than the 45/70

Just bought this rifle. Have both the Marlin factory made muzzle brake and a custom muzzle brake made by a local machinist. Read a lot of article which stated that a muzzle brake On a 45-70 wouldn’t reduce recoil much and would rather just increase the sound. After shooting the Marlin 45-70 with 11/16 by 24 brake I doubt that anyone writing those article actually shot a 45-70 with brake. From my experience the noise increased only slightly, while the recoil was greatly reduced. Recoil was less than my sons 7mm-08.
