I ordered one of these but didn't realize that my gas block was only 3" from end of my barrel so it wouldn't thread (any other options)

It should as long as the muzzle threading is 1/2-28 and you have at least 4" of space between the muzzle and gas block.

The Guntec USA AR-15 Slip Over Barrel Shroud will work as long as you have at least 4" of space from your gas block to the threads on your barrel.

The Guntec USA AR-15 Slip Over Barrel Shroud will cover 4" of your barrel and has an outside diameter of 1.1875". Measure the internal diameter of your handguard and the location of your gas block to ensure it will fit within your handguard without making contact with your gas block.

The Guntec USA AR-15 Slip Over Barrel Shroud will cover 4" of your barrel and has an outside diameter of 1.1875". Measure the internal diameter of your handguard to ensure the shroud would be able to fit within the handguard.
