Correct, this is for 12ga so it will most likely be too big for a 16ga barrel.

Is this illuminated by tritium? If not, is there another model with tritium available, that will work with non-ribbed shotguns?

This does not have tritium it is a fiber optic.
It's only illuminated in in light.
