These Hornady SST Slugs 12 Gauge can be used in a 12 gauge Mossberg Maverick with either a rifled barrel or a rifled choke tube.

Please tell me-shotguns with SMOOTH BARRELS take RIFLED slug ammo - correct? and vice versa. Example: KSG 12G, that should use rifled slugs?

Rifled Slugs are designed to be shot through a smooth bore barrel with a compatible choke tube if the barrel is threaded for chokes. Sabot Slugs are designed to be shot through a rifled barrel. If you have a smooth bore barrel that has a fixed choke you need to ensure the barrel constriction is safe to shoot slugs through.

what choke should I use for this SST slug? modified or improved cylinder choke tube?

This projectile is designed for rifled barrels which would not use a choke tube, therefore no choke tube would be recommended.
