Will I still need a spring or is this a replacement for the buffer and spring?

Yes, you will still need a buffer spring when using a KynSHOT Buffer. The KynSHOT buffer replaces the standard buffer system or any other buffer system on the market. The buffer can be used with all Mil-Spec buffer springs on the market.

No. This KynSHOT AR-10 7.62mm/.308 Recoil Buffer is designed for calibers based off the .308 cartridge. KynShot recommends using the KynSHOT AR-15 .223/5.56mm Carbine Recoil Buffer (designed for carbine length buffer tubes) or the KynSHOT AR-15 .223/5.56mm Buffer for Fixed Stock (if you have a rifle length buffer tube).
