Yes, this buffer should work with this set up as long as it uses a VR80 buffer for the set up.

Can I change the stock still using commercial spec and have this run properly?

You can use this buffer with the stock VR80 buffer tube or a Mil-Spec carbine buffer tube.

Would this work on an utas xtr12?

You can try to use this in your utas xtr12 it wont hurt anything, as long as it has a VR80 Style recoil system with a standard buffer system.

A friend of mind had one of these fall apart. Honored under warranty and he was pleased but have you all worked out the kinks?

Yes, we have updated the design to eliminate any issues that have occurred on the original buffers. If you have an original VR80 buffer we would be happy to look at it for you and replace it if needed. Please contact the factory for further assistance on this!

Will this work with a milspec spec buffer tube for a ar15 ?I plan on removing the commerical buffer tube and replacing it.

No. This KynSHOT VR80 Platform Buffer is designed specifically for the VR80 shotgun. There is no difference in the buffer used between a commercial and milspec buffer tube so you can re-use your original. You can also email us at Techsales@opticsplanet.com if you are looking for a new setup. Let us know what rifle/pistol you have, barrel length etc.
