To use the IR laser yes you do

OR, you could buy a scope or red dot that is capable of seeing IR light. Googles are not the only method to see IR.
I buy scopes/red dots/holographic red dots - that have the ability to see IR. Even thought I only own the DBAL A3-2, I didn’t have any way to see the IR. So I chose to buy EOTech XPS3-2 - that is a holographic red dot - and it CAN see IR
